Former Imp takes charge at Rotherham

Mick at Forest earlier this season
Mick played for City between 1977 and 1980 scoring 40 goals from 109 appearances. He later had spells with Newcastle, Derby, Bristol City, Sunderland, Wimbledon and Chelsea. Perhaps his most successful spell was at Luton Town where he won England honours in 1988/89 in games against Denmark and Israel.

Harford was an uncompromising forward with an eye for goal who despite his high profile career never hit the height his early Lincoln form promised. Recently he had been assistant manager to Mike Newell at Luton before moving to assist Joe Kinnear at Notts Forest. However just a few weeks into his Forest spell Kinnear left and was replaced by another ex Imp, Gary Megson who found Harford's coaching skills surplus to requirements. Most observers predicted that his departure from Forest would only be a temporary measure before he stepped up to a full time job, and today he takes the seat vacated by long serving Ronnie Moore.

During his days as an Imp
Rotherham have already been relegated from The Championship and could be an opponent of Citys next season. Certainly if they were to return to Sincil Bank there would be a hero's welcome for Big Mick.
