This Saturday on the 6th of June 2009 Katie Jeffrey, Rachel Shepherd (both of Louth) and Bonnie Fricker (of Market Rasen)will be undertaking the famous Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge. This involves a gruelling circular hike of 25 miles covering three of the highest peaks in Yorkshire; the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
Bonnie is a Lincoln supporter who aims to take her frustration at a poor season by stomping around the Yorkshire countryside. No doubt she'll need to put in a lot more effort than Stefan Oakes normally does on a Saturday! However the girls do have a charitable aim as well, which is where you, the LCM readers come into play.
This all day trek is all to raise money for the Bliss charity who provide care
for premature and sick babies all over the UK. Katie explained why this charity means so much to her "This is something very close to our hearts as my brother Liam Shepherd (Rachel's son) was born 3 months premature only weighing 1 pound 14 and a half ounces. The time he had in hospital was very tough for all of us. With the help of the brilliant people who worked with him and from all the love he recieved from his family he came out of hospital a healthy little boy. Now at nearly 7 years old he is a happy and extremely amusing little miracle, we couldn't imagine life without him"
To show your support please visit our just giving webpage at http://www.justgiving.com/katiejeffrey It's quick and easy to do and every little bit helps.
Hopefully we'll be able to get a picture of Bonnie on one of the peak in her beloved Imps shirt for the site!
