Warlow in Wales action tomorrow

Warlow has constantly impressed for the Imps' reserve and youth sides, attracting the interest of Wales' under-21 boss Brian Flynn upon recommendation from Director of Football, John Deehan.

Having been invited to watch the youngster in training, Flynn was clearly impressed with what he saw, drafting the young winger straight into his 19-man squad alongside seven other debutants for tomorrow's clash.

Despite having yet to make his first team bow at Sincil Bank, the Newport-born man is held in high esteem by the Imps' management, having been awarded a one-year professional deal last summer.

Flynn has experience of working with Warlow's Lincoln team-mate, Lee Beevers, who boasts six Welsh under-21 caps to his CV. And it appears the Welsh defender – much like Flynn – holds Warlow in high regard: “Owain's a very good player and if he gets that break into the first team he's got the pace and talent to make people sit up and take notice,” said Beevers, speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo.

Wales U21 squad: Wayne Hennessey (Wolves), Owain Fon Williams (Crewe), Mark Bradley (Walsall), Kyle Critchell (Chesterfield), Chris Gunter (Cardiff), Joe Jacobson (Cardiff), Mike Williams (Wrexham), Darcy Blake (Cardiff), Mathew Collins (Fulham), Rob Davies (WBA), David Edwards (Shrewsbury), Dean Grubb (Bristol City), Lloyd James (Southampton), Rhys Williams (Middlesborough), Owain Warlow (Lincoln), Chedwyn Evans (Man City), Chris Jones (Swansea), Sam Vokes (Bournemouth).
