The poll ended just a few days ago, and Simon Weaver came joint first with another out of favour Imp, Adrian Littlejohn. Weaver recently signed on a one month loan deal with Macclesfield Town continuing the trend of our voting polls results eclispsing real life events.

Perhaps more ominously Adrian Littlejohn shared the top spot. The journeyman striker has only been with the Imps for a month or two but has been restricted to just a couple of appearances without making any notable contribution to the Imps results. With his contract set to end in December it does seem likely that your vote will again come true.

Third place in the vote was Gareth McAuley no doubt a result of the Sunday newspaper speculation linking him with a brace of Premiership clubs.
